Journaling is, hands down, my favorite practice for shifting my mindset and manifesting my desires into my life. Specifically, I like to use a technique called scripting.
But what exactly does that mean and how can you start scripting your dream life into reality?
That’s exactly what I covered in this episode of the podcast!
You can listen to the episode above or tune in via Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Or if you prefer, you can read on for the recap of the episode!
What is Scripting?
When I talk about journaling, I don’t mean the kind of diary writing you did as a teenager where you recapped your day. I’m specifically talking about scripting. This is a technique where you’re essentially speaking into existence what you want to manifest into your life as if it has already happened. So, each entry you write is future-paced and you’ll write about your life as if you’ve received the car, the house, the money, whatever.
It’s basically like Law of Attraction 101. With the Law of Attraction, we are taught to “act as if.” You are supposed to put your intention out into the world and move forward with full faith that what you want is on its way to you. You also want to embody the feeling of already having whatever it is you want so you can become an energetic match for it.
How Scripting Works
The great thing about scripting your dream life is that it helps you get clear on exactly what you want to manifest. By putting pen to paper, you’re essentially able to place your order for the things and the life you want to have. That’s essential because a lot people go wrong with manifesting because they give too much attention to what they don’t want and not enough to what they do want.
And as you script, you’re encouraged to visualize each and every goal becoming your reality. You want to see and feel how your life would change when you’ve received all of your desires. When you can tap into that feeling, it helps you become an energetic match, therefore attracting it into your life.
I like to think of journal entries as a written contract with the Universe, where whatever you have requested (or something better) is promised to you.
My Three-Step Process for Scripting Your Dream Life
Now that you know what scripting is and how it works, we need to cover how to actually script. I’ve broken this down into a simple, three-step formula that you can follow and even make your own as you’ve gotten more familiar with it.
1. Clearly State What You Want
When scripting your dream life, you want to speak about it as if it’s already manifested. There’s a phrase that’s commonly recommended when people teach about scripting and it’s the perfect way to start off your journal entries. It goes, “I am so happy and grateful now that….” And you would complete the sentence with whatever it is you want. For example:
I am so happy and grateful now that I’m consistently making $20,000 per month in my business.
2. Write About How Life Has Changed
The second step is write about what your life looks like now that you’ve received these manifestations. What is different about your life now? How have things improved? How do you feel? Allow yourself to get detailed during this part so you can really tap into it feeling as real as possible… Almost as if it was the movie of your life playing on the screen before you. Here’s an example:
I am so happy and grateful now that I’m consistently making $20,000 per month in my business. My life is filled with abundance. It feels so good to be able to pay my bills with ease. I’ve even been able to leave my full-time day job and focus solely on my business. I finally feel confident with my finances and secure and stable in my life overall.
Of course, there’s so much more you can add to this portion of your entry. This is a very simple example so you can get an idea of what’s required here. Building off this example, you might want to write about the things you’ve purchased with this extra money and what they’ve done for your life, etc.
3. Give Thanks for Everything
The final step in this scripting formula is to express your gratitude. We all know that in order to manifest even more incredible things into our lives, we have to be grateful for what we currently have. That’s why you want to give thanks to the Universe for conspiring. to deliver everything to you. So, the full journal entry could read something like this:
I am so happy and grateful now that I’m consistently making $20,000 per month in my business. My life is filled with abundance. It feels so good to be able to pay my bills with ease. I’ve even been able to leave my full-time day job and focus solely on my business. I finally feel confident with my finances and secure and stable in my life overall. Thank you so much for the incredible abundance you have sent my way, Universe. I am so grateful that you have heard my prayers and delivered to me the $20k in profits this month. I can always count on you to take care of me and deliver what I need. Thank you!
Allow yourself to be filled with so much gratitude as you write this part of your journal entry.
How to Supercharge Your Scripting
Where people fail with scripting is that they get caught up in writing on autopilot without ever feeling into their desires being a reality. The key to scripting your dream life is for it to feel so real. You need to be present in the moment and be conscious of the words you’re writing.
The best way to do that is to make sure you’re evoking all the senses when you journal because it’s going to make these thoughts feel as real as possible. It might sound crazy, but I absolutely want you to use sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch in your journal entries.
Incorporating the Senses Into Scripting
For example, let’s say you’re working to manifest a six-figure year in your business. You could write about what a typical day in your life would look like once you’ve his this financial goal.
See yourself waking up refreshed when your alarm goes off. You feel silky, high-quality sheets against your skin. You get out of bed and walk into the kitchen of your dreams. Because the six-figure version of you eats a nutritious breakfast, you fix yourself a green smoothie and a bowl of oatmeal. Imagine what they would taste like. Hear a podcast coming through the speaker of your phone as you eat and get ready for the day because education is important to you! See yourself working at a desk in your ideal office and feel what it would be like to sit in the chair and type on the keyboard. Hear a positive, uplifting conversation between you and a client. See yourself leaving to see a friend for lunch because, as a six-figure earner, you call the shots in how you spend your day. Smell the new car smell of the vehicle of your dreams. Feel the leather seats and the steering wheel. Taste the delicious food at a fancy, expensive restaurant during your lunch.
Basically, you want to get so descriptive that it feels incredibly real and possible for you, no doubt about it.
A Few More Tips…
To wrap up this post, there are a few things I want you to remember about scripting.
- Scripting takes practice. This process will come more naturally to you over time as you make it your own. Just remember to enjoy scripting because it’s meant to be fun and empowering.
- You can write about multiple desires at once. You don’t have to write about one thing and one thing only until it manifests. You’re allowed to have multiple things you’d like to attract into your life, so you can write about them all. Focus on each individual thing or how each smaller manifestation plays a role in the bigger picture of scripting your dream life.
- Prioritize scripting. You want journaling to be part of your everyday life, so treat it with such importance that you make time for it. Schedule it into your calendar if you have to. The more you journal and script, the closer you’ll get to having every manifestation.
